Complete Plant Growth Regulators (PGRs) Portfolio
A plant growth regulator is a substance that controls how a plant grows and develops by directing its growth process. By developing a complete portfolio, we are able to support full growth cycles by balancing multiple plant signals together.By directly regulating growth behaviour, they can influence aspects from root and shoot growth and flowering to cell division and plant shape.Core Growth Regulators
Core growth regulators sit at the centre of all growth decisions in the plant, working in balance with each other to act directly on the processes of plant growth. By changing these, you amend the plant’s behaviour. Examples of core growth regulators manufactured at Pixon Chemie include:- GA3 (Gibberellic Acid) – With high purity of 90%+ technical, this promotes cell elongation and stem growth, helping to encourage flower, fruit set and size increase.
- IBA (Indole-3-butyric acid) – With incredible purity of 98%+ rooting results, this is a powerful auxin that is used specifically for root initiation. It’s common in cuttings, transplants and early establishments.
- 6-BA (6-Benzylaminopurine) – Highly concentrated at 99%+, our cytokinin is effective at low doses to stimulate cell division, shoot growth and branching. It also improves uniform growth by delaying leaf ageing.
- NAA (1-Naphthaleneacetic acid) – Used to control growth direction, this provides a strong, stable auxin effect by assisting with rooting, fruit thinning and fruit set.
- IAA (Indole-3-acetic acid) – This is the main, natural auxin naturally produced by plants. It regulates cell elongation, root growth and plant structure, making it a highly plant-compatible option.
Specialised Growth Regulators
Specialised growth regulators are used to fine-tune plant responses, rather than control overall growth. They are used to target specific stages, solve specific problems, and do so by adjusting timing, quality or uniformity. We manufacture the following specialised growth regulators:- CPPU (Forchlorfenuron) – As a very strong cytokinin-like regulator, it drives cell division during early fruit development to enable larger, more uniform fruit sizing. CPPU is used precisely to avoid over-sizing or shape issues.
- s-ABA (S-Abscisic Acid) – As the biologically active form of ABA, s-ABA helps plants manage water and heat stress, whilst also improving colour development in fruit.
- DA-6 (Diethyl aminoethyl hexanoate) – By enhancing metabolic activity, DA-6 improves photosynthesis and nutrient use by stimulating balanced growth across the plant. Improving overall plant vigour and yield, it’s the solution for broad-spectrum growth.
- BNOA (β-Naphthoxyacetic acid) – BNOA is a synthetic auxin that is used to regulate fruit load. Helping to prevent over-setting, it is applied at very specific timings to improve final fruit size and quality.
- Kinetin (6-Furfurylaminopurine) – Kinetin is a naturally occurring cytokinin, delaying leaf ageing by maintaining chlorophyll and photosynthesis in the plant. Kinetin helps longevity in a plant, helping it to stay more productive for longer.
Advanced Growth Regulators
Advanced growth regulators are next-generation plant growth regulators that expand beyond single hormones and optimise how multiple growth signals work together by managing balance, timing and efficiency. The advanced nature originates from the ability to combine multiple regulatory pathways, work at very low doses and interact with the plant’s own hormone systems by integrating with biostimulants and signalling molecules. Our advanced growth regulators include:Triacontanol – This is a natural, fatty-alcohol regulator which increases photosynthetic efficiency. By improving carbon fixation and biomass production, Triacontanol boosts growth in plants without overstimulation.Salicylic Acid – By activating systemic acquired resistance, salicylic acid strengthens plant immune responses and improves resilience to disease and stress. By working as a signalling molecule, not a nutrient, it is used as a plant immune memory trigger.Biostimulant Technologies
Biostimulant technologies take advantage of activating natural biological processes in plants to improve performance. They help plants use what they already have, but more efficiently.Amino Acid Products
Especially useful during transplanting, flowering and stress periods, amino acid products support plant recovery, improve nutrient uptake efficiency, support metabolism and reduces the energy that the plant uses to build proteins. Our amino acid products include:- Polypeptides – Medium length chains of amino acids that consist of 200-5000 Da molecular weight. They are larger than simple amino acids, and act as slow-release metabolic supporters for stress recovery and sustained growth. They’re big enough to provide structure but are small enough to be absorbed and active.
- Oligopeptides – These have a molecular weight of <1000 Da, meaning they are very short amino acid chains that are easily absorbed by leaves and roots. Acting as fast signalling molecules, they can quickly stimulate growth and stress responses.
- Fish Protein Hydrolysates – Derived from fish protein, they are broken down into amino acids and peptides. They are rich in diverse amino profiles, OMRI certified for organic agriculture.
- Plant-Based Amino Acids – Originating from plant proteins, they are suitable for vegan/plant-based systems. They have a more consistent composition, with a soya/maize origin for suitability in sustainable programmes.
- Enzymatic Hydrolysates – Produced using enzymes, it allows control over peptide size, creating specific molecular weight fractions. They have a cleaner, more targeted biological effect for more predictable plant response. Because the molecular size is controlled, this allows for tailoring of uptake speed, sustained support and specific stress timing.
Organic Acids & Extracts
Organic acids and extracts work to improve nutrient availability in the soil, helping to enhance root development. By supporting microbial activity, plants can absorb minerals more effectively. Examples of organic acids and extracts at Pixon Chemie include:- Fulvic Acid – With 70%, 80% and 90% grades available, our fulvic acid technologies improve nutrient mobility and enhance micronutrient uptake. This stimulates root development, working well in foliar and soil applications.

- Liquid & Powder forms available – Liquid forms are ideal for easy mixing, faster uptake and are appropriate for fertigation and foliar. Powder forms have a longer shelf life, lower shipping cost, can be more concentrated and are often used in bulk formulations.
Natural Biostimulants
This is a broader category of technologies that are all derived from natural resources, and work by stimulating plant processes. They improve plant efficiency rather than directly feeding plants. Examples of our natural biostimulants include:- Glycine Betaine – As a natural osmoprotectant, it helps plant cells maintain water balance, protect proteins and membranes and reduce damage from heat, drought and salinity. With cellular stability lost from plant stress, glycine betaine helps to stabilise internal structures.
- Trehalose – Trehalose is a natural sugar molecule that provides cells with drought protection. By preserving the cell membrane integrity, it protects enzymes under dry conditions and helps plants to recover after water stress.
- Mannitol – Mannitol is a sugar alcohol that scavenges reactive oxygen species and protects cells during oxidative stress. From this, it improves tolerance to heat, salt and drought to protect against any cellular damage.
- Oil Seed Meal Extract – Derived from oil seed processing, oil seed meal extract promotes growth by stimulating root development, microbial activity and overall plant vigour.
Plant Defence Activators
Plant defence activators are substances that switch on a plant’s natural immune system, helping activate and prime the plant’s natural defence systems. They prepare the plant to respond faster to disease, strengthen cell walls, produce defensive compounds and improve stress resilience.Elicitors & Immune Enhancers
Elicitors and immune enhancers are compounds that activate plant defence signalling pathways. They alert the plant that a threat could be present. Examples of Pixon Chemie’s elicitors and immune enhancers include:- Chitosan – Derived from chitin, it acts as a strong immune elicitor by activating defence enzymes and phytoalexins. With various molecular weights & deacetylation availability, we can control uptake and signalling speed, surface effect and strength of biological activity
- Yeast Extracts – Containing β-glucans, yeast extracts are natural immune stimulators that are recognised by plants as microbial signals, support systemic defence signalling.
- Methyl Jasmonate – As a natural plant hormone derivative, it activates the jasmonic acid pathway to help prime the plant’s response to biotic and abiotic stress.
- Laminarin – Derived and extracted from brown algae, laminarin is a β-glucan that activates plant defence genes and promotes systemic resistance.
Natural Defence Compounds
Natural defence compounds are substances that support or enhance plant resilience with natural methods, often targeting deeper physiological levels. Natural defence compounds manufactured at Pixon Chemie include:Plant Defence Proteins – Working as the plant’s internal defence weapons, they work to support the plant’s natural defence mechanisms, strengthen plant tissues and reinforce plant resilience.Systemic Resistance Inducers – Working to prime immunity across the entire plant, they activate SAR and ISR to help the plant prime future physiological responses after initial stimulation. This helps plants to conduct a faster response to future attacks and regain a stronger immune memory.Biological Solutions
Biological Solutions are agricultural products that use natural organisms or naturally derived compounds. They improve plant health, productivity and protection. Rather than relying on synthetic chemicals, they function by supporting or activating the biological processes in plants and soil. Many biological solutions work through plant signalling systems. They help crops by improving plant growth, nutrient use, strengthening natural plant defences, supporting beneficial soil microbes and increasing tolerance to environmental stress.Beneficial Fungi
Beneficial fungi are naturally occurring fungi that form helpful relationships with plants. They can strengthen roots by acting as an extension of a root system and help create a more balanced rhizosphere environment. Examples of our beneficial fungi solutions include:- Trichoderma harzianum – This colonises plant roots and the surrounding soil to support root growth and plant vigour, improving nutrient uptake. With 2 x 10⁹ CFU/g, a higher CFU count means more active microbes are available to colonise the root zone.

Adjuvants & Enhancers
Adjuvants and enhancers are added to agricultural sprays to improve how well a product works, rather than providing nutrients or acting directly on the plant. The main function is to improve spreading, sticking, penetration and mixing. This stability enhances performance by improving uptake, protecting it from degradation and optimising delivery.- Penetration Enhancers – These help active ingredients to move through the leaf surface and into the plant. By improving passage through the cuticle, it increases uptake efficiency and helps active ingredients reach where they are needed inside the plant.
- UV Protectants – By protecting sensitive ingredients from being broken down by sunlight, UV degradation protection extends how long the product remains effective after spraying.
- Anti-Evaporants – Anti-evaporants reduce how quickly spray droplets evaporate after application. By keeping droplets liquid for longer, it allows for more absorption time into the plant. This helps to improve performance in hot, dry and windy conditions.
- pH Buffers – Stabilising the pH of spray solutions, maintaining the optimum pH level prevents the breakdown of pH-sensitive ingredients, improving compatibility in tank mixes.
